Vision

In contrast to the physical world, only one degree of separation lies between everyone on the internet. This heightened connectivity allows for new models of coordination + creation that are native to the digital realm. Public Assembly will test the current best practices for leveraging the unique physics of the internet to create what’s missing as fast as possible.

Focus

The core focus of Public Assembly (from a public perspective) will be to create as many high-impact, need-filling prototypes as possible. Prototypes can range from small components of larger ideas, fully speccd applications, to subDAO spinoffs around prototypes that are ready to be the focus of a sustained development cycle. Of course other types of ideas will be funded as well (ex: governance/ecosystem related stuff, bounty programs, etc.)

The background/underlying focus (or “destination”) of the DAO will be figuring out how to maximize decentralized, asynchronous, internet-based coordination in the pursuit of building digital infrastructure.

Here is a graphic that roughly describes the vision of Public Assembly (replace moonsunmoon with Public Assembly logo tba)

Governance Overview

Nouns Model + Ecosystem

We posit that the nouns model is currently the best mechanism for facilitating non-extractive, open-source digital infrastructure development. By using this model as the foundation for the Public Assembly DAO, we can operate at scale immediately upon deployment of the onchain entity. Selecting this model also lets us build on existing public infrastructure (ex: noun.market, prop.house, nouns.wtf, etc.) that supports the management of decentralized communities of internet creatives.

Nouns Implementation (VERY ROUGH DRAFT)

We will follow the NounsDAO implementation of the nouns model, with some differences in the proposal threshold % and the founder allocations.

Proposal threshold will be set to 0.1 % rather than the 0.25% used currently by NounsDAO to encourage more participation in governance (currently ~80% of Nouns holders cannot submit proposals due to their use of 0.25% here).

Founder allocation will be significantly different:
